| Geomancy work of Marko Pogacnik is beautiful in his simplicity of stone sculpture he creates and places as lithopuncture on the Earth. His talented daughters draw very sparse line drawings that express the energies of the unseen world - an example is on his book cover in the center of the lake. |
The Nautilus represent the sacred geometry and is a perfect representation of the Fibonacci ratios seen throughout nature.
I have been intrigued by circles for a long time, as noted by this painting I did decades ago. This represents the energy exchange and two or more people communicate.
The Bagua is an ancient system for organizing energies and nature into a cohesive representation of influences that affect people and spaces. It is based on the I Ching.
Marko Pocagnik writes about the holon of energy the cycles down into the earth and back up above ground then down again - continuously. This is my model to demonstrate that energy in action, based on two Slinkys on cardboard, which represents the ground.
My interest in fiber arts leads me to explore how to make circles. These are samples. The white, grey and black is my self-teaching weaving circles from book from "The Chilkat Weaving Dancing Blanket"
by Cheryl Samuel.
Nature has many examples of the Fibonacci Ratio.
Even the Fibonacci ratio can be used in weaving. This is my sample for a scarf I wove using the Fibonacci ratio.
So, to put this all together, I look to nature for understanding the elements of earth, air, fire, water and wood. For instance, this sunset is fire - but also light - illumination.
And this fire is warm, but could also be danger. It is amorphous constantly changing shape.
These Redwoods are, well, wood, but they are also ancient, and giant, and gather water from the air and mist and drink light from the fiery sun and live for hundreds of years... They are structured forms, rigid trunks with flexible branches, with figured bark. They are HUGE.
This is water, essential to life but could be dangerous or nurturing liquid, solid (ice) or misty (vapor) like that which the Redwoods drink from the air. Water can be a still lake (vessel) to float
on and bathe in for nurturing. Water is dynamic (liquid wave, vapor clouds) or still/solid (solid ice or still lake with mirror reflections) How do these elements influence us? How do we influence them?
The Yin Yang is a dynamic duo, like two atoms dancing around each other. This is my simple example that the yin-yang is a 3d dynamic energy core in all of us and everything. Yin Yang is often used in the center of the Bagua, but is not well understood.
